Pet Food Review Working Group

Following on and in parallel with the Senate Inquiry,  Minister of Agriculture, Mr David Littleproud established a Working Group to advise the Government on future regulation of the pet food industry. Unfortunately as can be seen from the Freedom of Information disclosure regarding composition of the Group and email discussions with Departmental Officers, Dr Narelle Clegg and Dr Sally Thompson, the Group is a captive of the junk pet food industry/veterinary/RSPCA alliance. Two consultants provided reports (A, B) to the Group. A final report has not yet been released.

In July 2020 Minister Littleproud was asked for comment. The Hawkesbury Gazette article is here.

In November 2020 State and Territory Members of Parliament were alerted to the Pet Food Review Working Group charade.
